Terms of Use
Effective date: October 4, 2026
These Terms govern your use of docsinenglish.com and any translation you order from Docs in English, a certified translation service located in Roseville, California (“we”, “us”). By using the site or placing an order, you accept these Terms in full. The English, Ukrainian and Spanish versions are translations of the Russian version; in the event of a discrepancy, the Russian version prevails.
1. Scope of services
We translate documents from Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, Romanian (including Moldovan) and Bulgarian into English and sign a translator’s certification stating that the translation is complete and accurate and that the translator is competent in both languages.
We are not a law firm, attorneys or notaries, and we do not provide legal or immigration advice: we do not determine which documents to file, how to complete forms or what answers to give. Those decisions rest with you or your attorney.
2. How we translate
Only text in Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, Romanian and Bulgarian is translated. Text in any other language is not translated: the translation states the language of that text and reproduces it as it appears in the original. The translator’s certification covers the Russian, Ukrainian and Spanish text of the document.
Stamps, seals and handwritten entries are rendered as shown in the samples published on the site.
3. Placing an order
- You send us photos or scans of the documents and state the agency or organization that will receive them.
- We quote the price and the turnaround time. Prices published on the site are for reference; an order is agreed once you accept our quote.
- Payment is due before work begins. The turnaround time runs from receipt of payment.
- The finished translation with the signed certification is delivered to you by email.
4. Acceptance and corrections
Upon receiving the finished translation, you must review it, including the spelling of names, dates, and names of places and organizations. Comments and requests are accepted within 24 hours of receipt; the resulting corrections are made at no charge. If no comments are received within that period, the translation is deemed accepted and the order completed.
We follow the agency’s requirements strictly; however, the decision to accept a document rests solely with the agency, and no one can guarantee that decision.
Issues raised by an agency regarding our translation are corrected at no charge, including after that period. Where a word in the original cannot be read, the translation marks it [illegible]; no conjectural reading is given.
5. Your documents
You send us only documents you are entitled to share. We use them solely to fulfil your order and retain them as set out in the Privacy Policy.
6. Information on the site
Our guides summarize agency requirements in plain language, with a link to the source of each requirement and the date it was verified. Requirements may change: before acting, consult the original source or contact the agency.
The text, samples and design of the site belong to Docs in English or are used with permission. Linking to the site is permitted; copying its content without our written permission is not.
7. Limitation of liability
The site is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability for an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
8. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. If a disagreement arises, first write to us at hello@docsinenglish.com; most matters are resolved that way. If it is not resolved, the dispute is heard by the courts of Placer County, California, unless the law entitles you to bring it where you live.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may amend these Terms. A new version applies from its effective date; an order already agreed remains subject to the Terms in force when it was agreed.
