How much does it cost to translate an EB-1A evidence package?
An EB-1A evidence package usually holds dozens of pages in Russian or Ukrainian: articles about you, awards, letters, membership documents, contracts and salary records. Every one of them needs a full English translation with the translator’s signed certification. We charge by the page: $25 for the first page and $20 for each additional one, so 40 pages are $805; from page 51 of the order a page is $17, so 80 pages are $1,515. The same applies to O-1 and EB-2 NIW.
What gets translated for each criterion
To qualify for EB-1A, a person shows a one-time major international award or meets at least three of the ten criteria in 8 CFR 204.5(h)(3) (opens in a new tab). Evidence in Russian or Ukrainian that usually needs translation:
- prizes and awards: award diplomas and certificates, the competition rules and the list of jury members; see awards;
- membership in associations: membership certificates, bylaws that set the admission requirements;
- published material about you: articles in professional journals and in the media, with the name of the publication, the date and the author; see articles and publications;
- judging the work of others: invitations to review, letters from editors and organizers;
- original contributions: letters from experts, patents, implementation certificates;
- scholarly articles: your own articles, with the journal and the issue;
- exhibitions: catalogs and programs;
- leading or critical role in organizations with a distinguished reputation: letters from employers, orders and charters; see employment records;
- high salary: contracts, salary certificates, tax documents;
- commercial success in the performing arts: box office records, sales data.
What to file and under which criterion is for you or your attorney to decide. The same evidence types are used for O-1 and EB-2 NIW.
What USCIS asks of a translation
Every document in a foreign language comes with a full English translation and the translator’s certification that it is complete and accurate and that the translator is competent to translate (8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) (opens in a new tab)). An article is translated with its headline, date, author and captions; a web page with its address and the date it was captured.
What a typical package costs
A typical package might have:
- 8 one-page award certificates: 8 pages;
- 5 articles about you, about 2 pages each: 10 pages;
- 6 letters from employers and colleagues, about a page each: 6 pages;
- membership documents and bylaws: 6 pages;
- salary certificates and a contract: 10 pages.
That is 40 pages: $805. The real total depends on the number of words; send everything, and we’ll count it before you pay.
The same names and terms
In a package of dozens of documents, one organization, award or journal appears many times. We translate each name the same way throughout, keep the English names organizations use themselves where they have them, and follow the spelling of people’s names from international passports or from your attorney’s list.

Questions
How are pages counted in an EB-1A package?
By words: a page is up to 250 words. A one-page award certificate is one page; a long article counts as one page for every 250 words. The first page of the order is $25, and each additional page is $20; from page 51 of the order a page is $17, from page 151 $15. Send everything, and we’ll give you the exact price.
Do you translate only the parts of an article that mention me?
USCIS asks for a full translation. If your attorney chooses to file an excerpt, they pick the part; we translate what you send in full and can mark where an excerpt begins and ends.
Can you keep the same terms across a large package?
Yes. Names of people, organizations, awards and journals are translated the same way in every document, and we follow the spelling you or your attorney give us.
How long does it take?
1–4 documents: within 24 hours after payment; faster, within 12 hours (+$15 a page) or 3 hours (+$30 a page, paid between 8 am and 6 pm Pacific time). For 5 or more, we give you the date with the quote.
